Turkey Coop Build

My turkeys lay everywhere, especially if you pick them up and break up nests. My turkeys use the shed to roost in at night. Turkeys in general like to lay on the ground and with some sort of cover or grass covering them.

Mine have been wanting to roost among a jumble of logs. So i wait until just about dark and pick them up and carry them back to the tractor.
Here is the latest update... 20180620_183520.jpg
We got the holes dug, uprights plumb and leveled. Hubby wants the run bigger than planned. I need more lumber anyway. I will need to call the sawmill tomorrow.

Today we got 32' of panels built for the turkey runs. Out of lumber, but i have more on order. I painted as much as i could, but ran out of that paint. Will have to check what i have on hand. I will add photos later. Time for a cooling break.

Will they sit and hatch, then brood the poults?
I only let mine set once and it turned into a mess because there was 2 hens next to each other. After that I preferred to have my bantams hatch my turkey eggs than I brooded them so they were more friendly and I had more control. I personally haven't let a turkey do it all. Others have no problems with letting them go.

I ended up going to a swap to try and sell some rabbits. All a sold was a dozen quail eggs. What a waste of time and effort. I got up at 4 am. Right after dinner i laid down for a nap. Woke up at 11 pm. I am supposed to have people coming to pick up quail tomorrow. And keets, plus a few chickens. Still need that wire.
