Hey Jim, I'm very tempted on your black turkey eggs too!!

I just have to prove I can hatch out these midget white eggs I purchased and if I'm successful at that, I will come a'knockin'!!

so far, my chicken egg hatch rate was pretty dismal until recently where I insisted everyone leave that darn bator top DOWN during lockdown. We've now got 12 chicks out of 23 hatches and a day or two more for the others. Hopefully, they will all hatch!

I am hoping to get either some eggs or poults this year of the Wishard strain, and if so will be incubating and natural rearing.

Is any brand of incubator favored over others for Turkey eggs??

I have a Hovabator now with turner and fan, works fine for chicken eggs, is there a better one for Turkeys?

I didnt add that I am considering the GQF cabinet with 3 trays.

We are using a Genesis by Hovabator. Have Turkey egsg in it now!

Better temp and humidity control then the GQF.
I feel they are better built.
I will say the dickey is 3 + years old and the GQF a little older.
So it might be just the age and the newer ones might be better don't know.
first chance I get the hatcher is gone and a dickey will replace it.

I have 2 GQF's and my Dickey's blows the doors of of the GQF's.

I got my first batch of eggs in! The Wishard Bronze and they sent 18.
So now I have a question ... How long do I let them sit before I set them in the incubator?
8+ hours like chicken eggs that get shipped or longer?
