Turkey eye infection - I need help too!

My young turkey has been battling an infection for about five days. We have tried treating it with a prescription we had on hand for people - an cipro ointment. I don't think it is getting better, in fact, it almost looked this morning like the eye is collapsing. The bird is eating and chirping. Any experienced ideas? I am totally new to this.

He probably needs a systemic antibiotic like Tylan or Duramycin.

Well, this turkey is suffering no longer. I thought the infection was getting better, and then a predator ate him. Now we have a new problem to solve! Not the way I thought it would go. Learning new lessons every day.
