That is a hen????? Without the few distinguishing characteristics (like the snood, beard, gobble and strut) between Tom and hen, I wouldn’t know how to determine the male from the female. But I know very little about turkeys. I’ll learn! And thanks for helping me.This?

No, that is a tom with the snood that intrigues you. That is a hen????? Without the few distinguishing characteristics (like the snood, beard, gobble and strut) between Tom and hen, I wouldn’t know how to determine the male from the female. But I know very little about turkeys. I’ll learn! And thanks for helping me.
Yes indeed it does. I never knew about that part of a turkey’s anatomy. Shoot, you had me excited there for a minute thinking that was a hen. Dang it!No, that is a tom with the snood that intrigues you.
I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have clicked the laughing emoji, but that sentence about his snood made me BWAHAHAHAHA! How do you pronounce B’odin’s name and where did you get the name? Is it pronounced ‘Bōdin’ with a long O? I really like it!I've only had my turkeys for a few months now, but I'm finding the boys to be more personable than the girls. My jennys are aloof and skittish, whereas 3 of my 4 jakes will follow me around. They're also easier to catch, probably because they're always so busy putting on a show!
I should've take a pic, but my two largest boys got into a tiff this past week and were a bit beat up. Heihei's face was bruised, but B'odin's snood was so swollen at the end that it looked like a wrecking ball hanging from his facePoor guys!
Lol, no worries! I laughed at them tooI’m sorry. I shouldn’t have clicked the laughing emoji, but that sentence about his snood made me BWAHAHAHAHA! How do you pronounce B’odin’s name and where did you get the name? Is it pronounced ‘Bōdin’ with a long O? I really like it!
So is this what “Jimmy” is doing in this video? The owner calls this “dancing,” but I find it hard to believe that turkeys make a habit of dancing. Just curious. Thanks! It is normal. It is called masturbation.
If you have just a single tom with a lone rooster, eventually the tom will probably kill the rooster unless it is a big enough area with hiding places and obstacles that will allow the rooster to escape.
Yes the toms do this normally once breeding season starts slowing down. It is turkey masturbation. It is a guy thing. You will not see any hens doing it.So is this what “Jimmy” is doing in this video? The owner calls this “dancing,” but I find it hard to believe that turkeys make a habit of dancing. Just curious.
