Turkey pair attack my chicken

Well I just spent the last 2 hours putting up a barrier of vinyl chicken wire between the two different species the run. luckily I had put together to dog kennels to make the giant run so we have two separate entrances. That was a small miracle today. tomorrow will be the first day where I will open the door to the Ron and just lettomor go. We have an acre of land and I'm going to pray for the best. It's all I can do right now. I like we in Massachusetts we have a leash law so I'm not too afraid of dogs around.

with the exception of my chickens occasionally chasing off a turkey that they feel is eating too much of the scratch I've tossed to the two species to enjoy.
Makes me wonder if there is enough to eat. Turkeys grow quickly and their nutritional needs - especially volume - change drastically. It would be easy to under-calculate what they need - which would cause conflicts over food.

Leash laws don't help when fences break. But dogs might not be your only predator...

I think them are WILD turkeys... I let my birds chase off the sparrows too... it's not an open buffet if we can help it. :)

There was always an abundance of turkey pellets, fresh grass 3x daily, fruits and vegetables

But could they be liking the chicken feed better? Enough that they would fight the smaller birds away to get at it?
I know I have that problem with my dogs. I had to build a "creep feeder" to keep our large puppy out of our older dog's food. Luckily, she eats hers fast enough that he doesn't get any of the high-fat, calorie-rich puppy chow!
