OH Becca, I don't think you can do this! I am a new turkey owner and I am just thrilled with them. I bought a grown pair, have no idea how they were raised, but the female is flighty and runs all over the farm (might could eat her?) but the male. Well, he is a different story. His name is "Tom" how original huh? And he is something else. He follows me everywhere. If not me, then anyone who is in the yard will do. He prefers not to be touched in any way, but is always underfoot. He has now discovered he can see in my back windows into the kitchen and living room. He stands there the whole time I am inside, watching me, his intelligent, turkey eyes pleading for me to come out. He is patient...........and waits, just watching me. If I talk to him, he "talks" back. He is majistic, in a very ragged sort of way. Our whole family has become attached to him, even my husband who yells at him everytime he "gobbles" and Tommy Boy just gobbles louder. Like it is a contest. So now we have ONE baby poult. If it has even half the personality of Tom, well, I couldn't eat it no matter what. And I'm no softie about animals paying their way! Just pray your turkey birds are mean and spiteful, so they will taste better.

I think having 20 under foot will make some edible. Some of these are much friendlier than others. LOL. I actually don't have a problem with it. Not like some folks. Most of my stock are perfectly tame and still edible. That's what they're here for...

Of course it helps if they're mean or ugly but I still get it done. Looking forward to fall this year with so many to sort through... Need a bigger freezer though.
