Turkey "runt"

It's been a while now since they hatched so while it could potentially be a runt, I would also think you could just have two males and a female. Some people say they already show a difference in size at this age. I would think the little one is a female so long as you have witnessed it eating normally.

Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated everyone!
What happened with these poults? I’m curious because I have a hatch of five, June 26. They were all similar until about a week ago, Rio is about half the size of the other four. Eats and all just the same as the others, just considerably smaller. Pics to show comparison and with their older sister hatched April 8. Really hoping it’s not because she is a she and I have four males, or it’ll be a homegrown Thanksgiving 😬

Did your runt make it? I have one that is half the size of all the others and just want to know if I should be worried about it’s health

@Rharp No, he was the only one of the five who slipped into a water trough during triple digit weather and drowned. No way to link it to him being a runt, but it did teach me to put shallow water dishes out for my turks in really hot weather.

Sorry about yours! And thank you I’m hopeful for my runt Turkey. It’s definitely my favorite and likes to be babied.

That ends up happening with the special ones, doesn’t it? 😃 I had an injured gosling that considered himself a person and complained every time we left him alone.
