Some turkey varieties you can I guess feather sex by the color of the edging of the feathers females will have a light edging males will have black edging. They need to be getting their adult feathers for this and I'm not sure what varieties can do this.

This technique applies only to the breast feathers and in my opinion by the time that this technique works, there are also other factors which can be used to determine sex. The breast feather technique does not work on turkeys with all white breast feathers. I do know that it does work on the blue slate turkeys once they are mature enough.

The earliest I have been able to sex turkeys and it has only worked for precocious toms is once they start to get their first wing feathers, precocious little toms will start strutting and trying to establish their dominance over the other poults. Every one that I have witnessed this behavior in has turned out to be a tom. This does not by any means mean that the rest of the poults are hens, it just indicates that the displaying poult is a tom.

How do you feather sex turkey poults?

What breed are they ? some are sexlink and I think some you just have to wait and see. Good question! I'd like to know as well! I'm learning turkeys are all about waiting... not my strong suit lol...

When I crossed my blue slate tom on royal palm hens, I got mostly black poults and a few of the two different varieties of blue poults. I currently have one yearling hen from a self blue/royal palm cross that looks very much like a blue slate except she has a scattering of white feathers.

Oh she is pretty :)

I want eggs for sex-linked and I want them to hatch next week!!!
I do fine waiting, provided everything happens when I want it to.
