I made a coolerbator when I realized just an LG would not be enough, lol. My first effort at wiring was the fan for the LG: a computer fan and an old adaptor; Ant the coolerbator needed a bottle lamp set up, so I just folloed the instructions. I was shacking, worried I would do it incorrectly but it turned out fine. THis is my 3rd season using it. It is full of turkey eggs and muscovy duck eggs.

gotta love the coolerbators!!!

I grew up helping skin rabbits, fillet fish, process deer, etc. This is food for my table. As long as it's something that will be eaten, I'm fine with the process. It's the babies or sick/injured birds that have to be culled that bother me.

THe next group I did not play with at all. That made all the difference in the world. I still struggle with dispatch them, and I say a prayer of thanks at the time for each one. I am more grateful for my food than ever before in my life. TOnight we have chicken from the store and I will not thnk to say thank you to the bird, it is just meat now.

In the yeears before I sent the birds and lambs to the butcher-- and that was hard too. WHen the packages come back all neatly labeled the disconnect is complete.

Take heart this is all a part of learning to butcher your own meat. IT is a step by step process; you will decide which ones you choose to participate in.
