My oldest turkey hen (2.5yr) sat for me yeerday for first time this season. Did the same today. My 8month old male came over & did the deed. I should start finding eggs soon

Ellie is an Eastern Wild (Captive bred)

That would explain her tendency to display so much. Wild type hens have much more tendency to do so than heritage hens. Much more competition in the wild so they show off more.

If I were to buy some 5 month old naragansetts right now, would they be too old for roasting by thanksgiving or would the meat still be tender?
