Turkey Talk for 2014

you bring up some good points

not sure what meat prices for live turkeys would be

& i'm still not 100% sure they are BBB

i might be able to find out at the feed store where i purchesed them last July

oh 1 more thing last fall they ate like horses but now the feed they go through is much less

so there growth has slowed way down i'm guessing

thanks
piglett

For what it's worth, your hen looks just like my BBB hens. Short and heavy.

Is it wrong that I tell them I am going to eat them?

Quote: I've posted these before. My hens will be one year old the first week of April. I just processed the last tom a couple weeks ago. I'd guess they were around 9 months when these pictures were taken. My hens still run around and don't have leg problems, yet. These are BBB from Ideal. I read somewhere, no idea where, that Ideal's BB are smaller than other hatcheries.

We have three toms. 1 bourbon red 1 Narragansett and 1 sweet grass. We have only four hens. 1 Bourbon red 1 Narragansett 1 sweet grass and 1 gray. We don't care if they mix and the kids are excited what crosses will come up!
