So how many turkeys in a 20' x 30' area. There will be a lean-to type house for them for the summer and we plan a shed type building for the winter.

The 11 Welsummers, 3 Pekins, 6 Rouens and the 12 Cayguas will have their own run of 25' x 20'.

This is not to scale but a basic understanding of the plan

Thanks for fixing it. Does anybody else have problems copying and pasting in p BYC posts? I am doing it the same way I used to, but it won't work. Hence I just typed in the address and forgot the http.

Im not sure if some one answered you copy paste question yet but if not then I will.

To copy and paste you need to look above your reply box where you can change you font or add pic and the emoticons etc. If you click the tiny box with the letter T in it, that is to copy and paste text into your reply.

SO I have a broody turkey hen. She has been sitting for about 4 days now. My problem is they have one nest area they share and eggs keep getting added I know I can take all the new ones laid every day. But Im concerned come hatch day that the other hens or toms will hurt the poults.

I have had much success moving broody chickens but has anyone had success moving a broody turkey hen or will she abandon the nest if I do?

My turkey pen is roughly about that size and I house 8 turkeys in it, 2 Toms and 6 hens. Im sure it would hold more but I like to give them space especially since during mating season the hens need to be able to flee from the Toms if they need to and the Toms need space from each other especially since they spar often.

I did only see 4 till you said that now I see the other one behind the one in the front. lol
