Turkey Talk for 2014

Pheasants are known to be canibalistic & will pick each other & any other bird in with them to death. I would not put any other birds in with young pheasants. Adult turkeys or peafowl should be ok with adult pheasants, but I wouldn't truust juveniles with anything that isn't at least twice their size.

Thank You! I've built the Turkey's a pen just for themselves.

I have another poult with a bad leg. It started as a slight limp a few days ago. After researching, I found he has a slipped tendon. I think this was probably the problem with the first one too. What I read said it needs to be fixed within the first 24 hours or it can't be reversed. I Tried wrapping it, but I couldn't get anything accomplished by myself. But after working with him awhile, it looks a bit better. Has anyone had any luck with this after 24 hours? Right now, he has a job and is doing great at it. I put him in the little brooder with the 2 new poults and he's teaching them the ropes.

I have a turkey baby! It just hatched as I was closing up for the night. Hopefully there will be more to follow! I tried to get a look to see it but turkey girl was hissing so I left her be for the night. Hopefully I can get a good look at the little one in the morning! I will try to get pics as soon as I can. Here I didn't think turkey boy was doing his job! LOL
