Hello all, It has been forever since I have been on here. Crazy how work gets in the way of the fun stuff all the time! ;) Thought I would post some pics of my guys and gals all grown up. It has been a year now since I got them and the hens had hatched out some babies who are no longer babies. I believe I have 2 Jakes that will eventually need a new home. There has been no fighting yet but lots of strutting around each other. Oh and I have a broody hen right now. Do they normally go broody at this time of year? She was broody at the beginning of the season.

This is the main man around here.

This is the crazy broody. LOL I have no idea why she tried to cram herself in the kitty pan because she has much larger nesting areas set up for her.

Your "main man" is beautiful! I love the pic you got of your hen crammed in the small crate! LOL! Thanks for sharing your pictures!

I have turkey poults that were raised by silkies/silkie crosses and now think that they're silkies, even though they live with other turkeys now. Every time I let the silkies out, they come running and will strut all around them. They will also still run over when a hen or rooster does a food cluck and will pluck the food right out of their beak. The silkies don't seem to mind. In fact, the little brown silkie mix hen will still try to attack my shoe if I catch a turkey and it starts squawking. She has raised most of the turkey poults for me this year, and still feels protective over them even though they are many times her size.

Beautiful pictures! They're all great! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I do enjoy having these turkeys around! I loved the pictures of the silkies and turkeys. Those tiny silkie Momma's can be quite protective! LOL
This girl just cracks me up because I never know what to expect to find with her. She is brooding a silkie mix hen. The chicken hen would steal her eggs and so I think she gave up and decided to brood her too! LOL Look to the bottom left of the turkey hen. LOL

Too funny!

haha this summer one of my turkey hens, Madge, did that too. Between them, they brooded 8 turkey eggs which gradually went down to 3 and most nights they shared the nest with the turkey hens wing draped over the broody hen. It was so hot for the silkie broody - I'd see her little head out from under the turkey hen's wing, panting away. Crazy critters
