Congrats AmericanMom! How eggciting for you and such a cute baby!!!

I am positively giddy... Went back thru this thread to my very first post.. I still cant believe that I'm here

Turkey #1 is out...e I had to add humidity to the room, even with two water jars and several sponges, humidity hovering around 40% inside the bator, this little one had a hard time and it was partially stuck.. I got the room humidity up to 60 and its 59 in the bator as we speak, the second egg that piped last night has started being more vocal and working the hole a bit... will have to watch it to make sure it can zip... Ughhh last year when I hatched I added no water, just a few sponges. Those little buggers piped and zipped so fast.. Goes to show and a great learning tool for others, what worked last time may not work next time. Always be ready to adjust !!!

Its going to be a long couple weeks, got two more batches, one set to hatch this time next week and the week after lol..

Some of them go very fast and some go very slowly. I know it's like nothing else, it's crazy! You'll make it.

I know this is a turkey thread but got home and the chicken egg that was pipped hatched. Had another batch of chicken eggs that should of hatched mon. But there were 5 in that bator that hatched. So 6 chicks when I got home.

Nothing from my turkey eggs yet. Weekend will tell.

That's great that the chicks are hatching first so they can teach the turkey to eat and drink. I hope they all hatch for you.

You already have your BBWs to raise up? I usually wait til around June. Did you get them from a feed store or ordered them?
