My BR laid an egg today! Our first turkey egg.

I am down to 2 of the four hatched. 1 culled 1 died in an accident. Remaining doing ok.

Think I got my first turkey egg today. It was in chicken nest box. If it was from a chicken I feel sorry for her. Lol

This big guy showed up this morning. Anybody know if he's Eastern or Rio? I'm just curious and I can't tell from looking at pictures.

Eastern...not enough color for Rio Grande. They carry a good bit more irridescence in chest & wings. Easterns are closer to a standard bronze with barring in the wings like in your pic.

Thanks everyone for the opinions on the wild turkey. I thought it was Eastern, but then I made the mistake of Googling images of both. Then I was confused.

Got my 2nd turkey egg of the season yesterday. My son found it in the bed of his truck last night. I know who it was too. I caught Connie in the truck & chased her out right before we found the first egg in the mud outside the back door. She's rotten...lol
