Stopping by to RE-introduce myself!!

I was on here last year but culled my flock due to Mycoplasma; we had Narragansetts.

Just placed my order for Porters and am expecting 17 poults mid-June. We have chosen to raise Silver Auburn, Blue Penciled Palm, and Chocolate Penciled Palm. I also got 2 blacks for my Hubby who is a sucker for black birds. 2 for him, 15 for me, that's a ratio I can deal with

Sooooo eager to have turkeys back; I sure miss them!!!

What's your guys take on raising a couple turkeys with a flock of chickens(roosters,hens/hens with chicks)?

I did it, but come spring I had to separate the turkey. The toms get very protective.

Mine stay together year round. My toms are big babies unless they are chest bumping each other. My turkey hens usually deal with obnoxious roos before my toms ever even get there. The most my toms have done is push between rowdy roos & break up the fight.

The one hen I had in with the chickens was so jealous of the chickens if I pet or talked to one that she would chase it down and nip it. lol She did not hurt the hens but she was telling them to stay away from ME! lol My toms did not hurt any of the chickens except stepping on the hens while fighting.
