turkey with a butt problem please help???

we got so white turkey's a day old. and first let me tell you I'm a sucker for the weak. i got this one home and that night i saw its butt was out I'm new to this. my hubby said some time chickens do this and to use a wet Qtip clean to push it back in. i did but every time it goes to the bathroom it comes back out what do i do. its still eating drinking and pooping. has any one had this happen and what did they do? thanks

Only thing that comes to mind is to try Preparation H on the q-tip, and keep the poult in a warm but low-light area (tends to keep them calmer/slow). I'd try meal worms and scrambled eggs for feed (make sure it drinking water). If this doesn't resolve pretty quick, I'd put it down.

thank you. this is a first for me. its a fighter it looks a little better but it still comes out when it poos i tryed prepH. so scrammed eggs may help? ill try that in the am. how does this happen to a few day old? thanks again

the egg/worm diet is simply to keep things as `squirty' as possible. PrepH is the only adjunct I know of for eversions. If you don't get more responses here, try posting in emergencies. Hopeful you'll get some better ideas.

I wish you the best of luck. I, too, am a sucker for the weak. In fact just over a year ago, a took home two day old BBB poults because neither could walk. Unfortunately neither made it

but your problem doesn't seem to be as extreme. And just last week, I brought home a young rp because he/she was smaller than the others and was being picked on. It's good to meet others who just want to give the little ones a little extra love.

You may have to push the q tip a little deeper with the meds on it...so it unfolds the tissue. Dont force it but roll the q tip side to side .

sorry i havent updated he made a ful recovery doing great not as big as the others but well on his way... i just hate to give up on some thing that is fighting to live.... ill take pics thank you every one
