Hello!!!!!
Same as I posted above, thank you so so much I’m glad I’m making the right choice rn by testing for this and ruling it out and then we can all go from there and figure out what’s next based on the results we want her betterYes. Very good decision.
Hello!!Greetings danielley101215,
You say the crop is still filled with fluid. Do you smell any stinky gas when you feel the crop?
Does she regurgitate any of the fluid from her beak, on her own, or when you feel the crop?
It is good she still eating and drinking, and pooping OK.
Did you try the crop bra? That crop should really be supported. Her crop muscle is being stretched. She may regain some tone to it with support and if you can get the yeast growth under control.
Here is a simple pattern.

Treatments:
Diet:
She should have no more access to grass. Feed moistened crumble/mash feed. You can add some probiotic to the feed. No chunky, or seedy foods. It's good to keep her eating, as long as she is pooping normally.
Medication:
An anti-fungal is needed.
- You can use , Miconazole Nitrate (over the counter med, can be purchased at any Pharmacy). You would administer some to her twice a day to kill yeast growing in her crop.
- Another home remedy that many poultry keepers use, is Acidified Copper Sulfate. This substance can only be used in glass or plastic containers. It reacts with metal containers, so they must never be used. It goes in the water so the bird can drink it. Purchase at a farm/feed store.
These are my thoughts on your turkeys crop issue. I hope I have been helpful.
- Nystatin is a good anti-fungal med, (needs prescription). And, there are other anti-fungal/yeast meds, but they require prescription by a vet.
God Bless![]()
