Turkeys and chickens

Has anybody tried raising turkeys and chickens together? I've heard that they can get different diseases if you put them together but we were sent turkey and chicken eggs by a friend and one turkey egg hatched and one chicken. Turkeys and chickens can be raised together. The biggest disease that affects them is Blackhead disease. But as long as the Turkeys and Chickens are on a regular worming schedule they will be fine.
