Umm my poult has started sneezing a lot today... Is that bad I've never seen or heard of a bird sneezing

My chocolates sneezed alot last year .... I was wondering that my self

When I first got my two toms as poults, they came down with something similar, they sneezed a lot and generally didn't look like they felt good. I gave them tylan 50 orally for a few days and it cleared them right up.

I just brought them outside of the coop( now a shed) and let them enjoy some fresh air ... So I don't know...

My hen went broody today... She won't get off the neat and pecks me pretty good when I approach. Can I take the a couple chicks away from her... I want to compare hand raised and hen raised ... Will they become friendly overtime

Just like with us, please be sure you use antibiotics for the number of days you're supposed to. If ever you need to use it again, there's a chance it won't work. I'm not one that won't use meds or wormer, flea meds if needed. I'll try natural means if I feel I've caught it early enough. Glad it worked for you. Last summer I had a few hens sneeze frequently. Didn't appear to be sick. It went on for a couple months. I heard one of the Hamburgs sneeze yesterday. These are all over 1 yr. I have a cat with allergies. I can give her benedryl when her sneezing gets bad. A cat with allergies. I wonder if she is allergic to the dog? lol What a crazy world we live in! sue

I just have one poult.. No idea if its a boy or girl... When it sneezes some liquid came out witch in assuming was snot.. It sneezed on my hand an it was gross but the sneezing has gone down an today I did not c it sneeze at all- but I did not spend that much time watching it.. But it never had anything of those symptoms y'all said just a sneeze it is weird

I would treat with tylan. I can get either tylan 50 or tylan 100 at the supply store, maybe you can too. google for dosage as it is off label use and won't be on the bottle.

I have a question and a little vent. I belong to a facebook poultry BST page locally and I posted my Red Bronze poults on there to sell, someone was intersted and wanted to know if Turkeys were aggressive. ALL my turkeys are puppy dogs so I said No turkeys are very friendly. I had someone chime in and say that Borboun Red turkeys were very aggressive and that he was not trying to interrupt a sale but he did not want to see any young children get hurt. He said Toms especially were mean. Is this true? I am pretty shocked at this statement, he said he has been raising Turkeys for 25 years. I just have never heard of turkeys being aggressive and I know kuntrygirl that is your breed and I've never heard you say they were mean. I'm a bit offended he would go onto a public page and call me out like that but maybe he knows something I don't?

Just a thought....A poult is so very fragile. By now, if it were respiratory, he would be so very sick or already gone. By the time I noticed that mine was ill, it was too late. It's not sounding like that with yours. (Remember, I could be so wrong). I would try treating with an antibiotic. If you get one and need help with dosages, come back on and I'm sure someone will know. Be sure to ask on the Emergency Thread, they might get back to you quicker. sue

I'm offended as well that he would say that when you are trying to make a sale. My Bourbon Red turkeys are NOT aggressive. I have been raising turkeys for about 7 years and I have NEVER in the history of me raising turkeys come across an aggressive turkey (tom or hen). It just don't happen at my place. My turkeys are the friendliest animals at my place. When I walk in the chicken yard, I have to go around them because they won't get out of the way because the toms are so busy trying to show off and strutting. They come up to me and strut around me ALL THE TIME. If I am sitting in the yard or the chicken yard, they walk over to me and surround my chair and give me a strut show. My toms have NEVER flogged me or anyone else, ran after me or anyone else. Perhaps he had a bad experience with them but everyone that I know has only great things to say about Bourbon Reds. Perhaps they just don't like him.

I don't have room at my place for aggressive animals on my farm and if my turkeys were aggressive, I would have turkey sausage for breakfast, turkey burger for lunch and turkey for supper straight from the yard. I have no idea what my bourbon red turkeys taste like.
