My turkeys haven’t been eating much if at all the past week. They seem perfectly normal but I worry about them not eating. Is this normal? Is there something I can feed them in the summer that they’ll eat?

My turkey feed consumption goes way down in the summer months. My turkeys get lots of free range time which means their diet is being greatly supplemented by all the bugs, grass, seeds, etc. they are foraging for.

Another reason for decreased food consumption in the early parts of summer are all the broody hens. They do eat daily but it is a decreased amount from what they normally eat.

I have two toms who are free range. I just didn’t know if I needed to be concerned or not. They’re my babies and I couldn’t imagine anything happening to them. Glad to know it’s not just them :) Thank you so much!
