Lots of blood rings, a couple clear and a bunch of darkness with no veining at day 9. Very sad.

My guess is it happened on Tues when I woke to a temp spike. Stabilized the temps but they were probably already gone. I waited to candle until Thursday. Didn't see anything good, but since this is my first try, I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. Candled again yesterday and still no hope. Been studying pictures all day and decided that it is time to admit defeat.

Good night. I'm sorry, babies.

I had a total failure my first hatch. Much sadness.

Total failure for me as well for my first hatch, it was devastating. I definitely found that you have to get a good thermometer and then stabilize the temps before adding eggs for several days. My thermometer I found was reading 10 high or 5 low and bouncing in between, and I blamed the LG still air incubator, ooops. So sorry for your loss!

Ok so i got 15 shipped Millie fluler duccles eggs and when I went to candle 7days late I see all but 1 is infertile. Hopefully that one hatches with my 9 other silkies eggs. Sorry for you unsuccessful hatch.

yup-me too-first hatch of 42~ all lost alot of infertiles ( just didnt grow-could of been from shipping too) but the rest had blood rings-none hatched. Very sad day-but next hatch 42 had 50% hatch rate and got better. I still get a sad batch from time to time but I take my chances every 3-4 weeks

I'm surprised to see how many 1st times were such failures... MINE 2! Gives me hope for future tries... thanks, I was feeling pretty discouraged.

ps: didn't mean to be flip and am sorry for the bad luck, but we all are not alone...

Im thinking I will have to do the same with mine. My first hatch is not looking to good I am so sad about it but there is always another time and other eggs.
Better luck next time.

I keep 3 thermometers in my cabinet style bator two inside and one bakers therm through the wall. I also have them set at 96 degrees instead of 99 so temp spikes are not as drastic....I dry hatch also by just adding the water when I turn off the turners and lay them flat for hatching, this has worked the best for me. Not 100 percent but still plenty.
