how often should I turn my chicken eggs? I turn them 3 times a day- once in the morning (around 8 am), when I get home from school (4:45ish), and before I go to bed (10ish). We made our own incubator out of a cooler and there is a hole in the top so the heat can escape. There’s a sponge for humidity and the temp is just under 100. The eggs sit on a medium-sized felt blanket. Also, any tips y’all have discovered about chicken egg incubation and anything on how to take care of chicks would be appreciated. They’re supposed to hatch at the end of next week

3 times a day is fine :) You can turn more if you want to too, but try to make sure you turn an odd number of times. What are you using to monitor the humidity?
We don’t have a tool, but I just make sure the sponge is always wet. We’re pribably not going to be hatching chicks again for a while and we’re trying not to spend too much money. How much do they cost?
