Turns out its a male Khaki R.I.P 05/29/09

this was my lonely duck that i had hatch on this past valentines im preatty sure it is a female so i named her Valentine lets hope
edited to add the pictures make the head look alot darker then it is the head is almost the exact same color as the rest of the body, why do cameras do this?

seems last night 05/29/09 a racoon or opossum got to him as his whole back end was ripped apart the insides hanging out i want to cry it was my 1 and only duck

She is very pretty. Her head could be appearing darker in the photo then in real life because her head is in a shadow.

Is that a curled tail feather I see? Drakes get a curled tail feather called the sex feather... females do not get the curl. I have no experience with ducks, so it might not be... but that sure does look like a curly sex feather to me...

If it was a khaki hen it would be more cocoa brown by now. It's bill would also be a slate color and its feet would also be slate.

Congratulations, it's a boy.

Just call him Valentino and get him a couple of girlfriends and everything will be fine

ok my luck is just not good lol sorry for you animals lovers but it seems i will be having duck and chicken stew, as i would love to have them i will try to keep him and the rooster as long as i can as my rooster in the pic crows like 530 or 6 in the morn but we will see, unless anyone in the bay are would like to but a duck and rooster

this one is quiet but also quacks every once in a while but i cant tell if it is raspy like the males or quacky like the females a si have no other duck to compare it to
