Twilight Addiction

Quote:
Stephanie (the author) is a dedicated Mormon so the books are very clean - even in the more intense situations (especially book 4 - great for the tweens/teens reading it), but I had trouble accepting that I wasn't going to get any major details.

I was one of those who didn't want to read the series but after much griping from my neighbor/friend, I borrowed her first book. I had trouble getting through the first two or three chapters, but then I couldn't put it down. I read the entire series in one extended weekend. It was insane. I became obsessed.

I was really frustrated with the second book. I was emotionally invested in Bella and Edward and to rip him out like that for majority of the book was a miserable read. Jacob is great as a friend, but I wasn't buying into the relationship. I hope they can flesh it out better in the movie.

DH was wonderful and sat with me in the movie theater to watch Twilight and then listened to me gripe about the lousy directing - she (the director) let a lot of scenes go by that should have been redone. Example: Rob's deer in the headlights stare while driving the car??

Ok, I could talk about this all day, but I'll wrap up my thoughts with saying,

Hello everyone. My name is Lacy and... ::sob:: I'm a Twili-holic.

EDWARD AKA ROBERT PATTINSON IS HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad someone else noticed how CLEAN the movie and books were. I couldn't believe the complaints about the movie didn't have enought intimacy and that teenagers are always hot and heavy. As the mother of two young girls who are Twilight fans, including a seven year old, I loved that I could feel comfortable letting them watch it. The seven year old is still a bit too young for the books of course but with all the nudity and sex and sinful stuff going on in these so called milder movies, it was nice to see they can be completely into something that's not so nasty. As an adult, sure I feel we got a little jipped on the sexyness of it but it wasn't supposed to target our generation. lol. As for all those who complained that the books were so lame, i'm not the first to say, "Then why did you waste your time reading all 4 books?" I hate to read and if I didn't love the first book I certainly wouldn't have kept going for the books just to get longer. DUH!

For the list of complaints about why it was so lame, including that it had many english mistakes, did you forget WHO the book was written for? Is my 12 yr. old gonna realize there are mistakes in punctation or grammar? NO, and quite frankly she's not gonna care. It's the storyline that matters. But all are intitled to their own opinion and some people like it and some people don't. Glad there's so many that do.

I am glad it was clean too cause I get to allow my 9yr. old cousin/ god daughter to watch it with me, usually when she stays with me I can't watch my type of movies till she goes to bed. We're ten years apart and we have both fallen in love with Twilight!

umm this is probally a really dumb question but in the book it says that edward is just a crush to Bella, how come they don't say that in the movie? Do you think that they will really split up in the second movie for as long as they did in the book or just like be apart for like two days?????

I probally just confused everyone

I'm trying to remember back to how that was said and by who with the crush to Bella... but as far as the movie.. absolutely they'll stick to the story about Edward leaving Bella - this will give Jacob some screen time

(I didn't like this book as much because of this).

I'm crossing my fingers that they'll spend 30 minutes MAX on the Bella/Jacob relationship blah, and then spend the rest of the hour focused on Edward/Rob.
