Well then for crying out loud Chicabee, all the more reason to get out of the chicken coop!

Oh man, I'm having an internal battle over whether or not I should go... I know if I do I will want to call in sick tomorrow, and I already did that last week from seeing the new 007 movie at the midnight release lol. So I'm probably just going to have to wait, siiiiigh... it'll kill me, though.

My 13 year old daughter is currently on the phone discussing plans to go right after school tomorrow. I told her she could go to the midnight show IF she and her friends could convince a parent to go with them (would have been me, but I have to work tomorrow

) of course, no one agreed! Figured it was her age group's Star Wars, or Harry Potter.

Funny, I thought the hype was so big because I live in western WA. Glad to know it's all over!

Have to admit- I loved the books, I want to see the movie more than Victoria!! Have to wait until Sat

I have discovered that I, too, want to see the movie more than my kids. In fact, the oldest is disgusted that I'm insisting on finishing shopping before the movie. She's sure she will be waaaayyyyy too tired to truly enjoy it <sigh>.

We're doing the shopping. I said I'd bring her home to take a nap and I'd go see the movie!!!!

I read it (I'm a sucker for a vampire story), and while I didn't find anything offensive as far as "adult content" or anything like that, I was really disturbed by the female protagonist's character, and her relationship with her "true love."

She's just not someone I'd want my daughter to emulate in ANY way. She's shallow and whiny, and completely dependent on her boyfriend for 100% of her self-worth and happiness, which is kind of sad.

I'm hoping the movie will actually improve on these characterizations a little!

well, this sucks, my poor daughter has been waiting with baited breath for 2 weeks to see the first showing tonight of Twilight, only to look at her tickets and find out that they are for midnight tomorrow night. So not only can she not see the first showing tonight, but she cant even go at a normal time tomorrow. She has to wait until midnight....

I talked to my daughters about Bella being kinda winmpy and pathetic.
And about the fact that her true love is perfect in a way no real man could ever be. Think about it: He has no BO or bad breath, is richer than Bill Gates, smart, romantic, never gets sick or injured (in the books). He's an unrealistic ideal.

That said, I still want to see the movie. I like the story.
