I agree... the books are always better! I am glad that I read the book first, I had more of an insiders point of view as to a lot of things that happened in the movie.

The best movie I ever saw that was to the "T" of the book, was the First Harry Potter movie... the Sorcerer's Stone. That movie was great!

In Twilight, I think that they should have emphasized more on how Bella wants to be turned to a vampire more than they did, and about how Edward wants to believe that he has a soul. Maybe in the sequel.

We went to see Twilight on Thanksgiving. We both liked it, although we thought they could have made it better.

Some of it took place in our backyard - the tree flying-hopping, baseball game, prom scene and many of the wide-angle scenery shots were filmed in the Gorge not far from where we live.

The 'tension' and chemistry between the two characters was incredible. There wasn't enough kissing and stuff - but we could tell they were trying to keep it to a minimum because of the target audience.

I'm definitely going to read the books.

I liked it, didn't love it, just liked it. There was a row of 6 teenage girls who were laughing at everything and it was seriously annoying me. They were even laughing at the end during the big fight scene when it gets really intense.

I went with DH and he was confused at a lot of things b/c he hasn't read the books and doesn't really intend to. I think the movie assumed you'd read them and didn't fully explain some things.

I've always been a Jacob fan. They cast him really well - I love the Jacob in the movie. BUT, Tyler Laurant is not Native American and he's only 5'8". He looks close enough, but I don't know how they're going to pull off the transformation needed for New Moon and still use the same character?

Her website has the 1/2 finished Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's point of view) I really loved it, especially because he can hear other people's thoughts and now you know what they're really thinking! I really love how much Charlie loves Bella - it's so sweet b/c he's kinda terse in the books, but he loves her so much and just doesn't know how to show it.

My son keeps asking if I plan on going. NO.
I'd never heard of it. Then one day I had to listen to a bunch of giddy college interns drooling over a computer site.
Then I saw the photos - euuuu - just looking at them made me want to withdraw from whitebread-land.

I was shocked to find out it was more than just a Utah thing. So the books might actually have some merit to them.

Enjoy your movie! I think I'll give it a pass.
