Twin duck eggs

Egg one sadly both babies didn’t make it
They were perfectly formed
One a bit bigger then the other
I think I would only have been able to save baby one as the second baby had it’s head tucked into its belly
I removed the yolks for the pictures but they both still had yolks
Egg 2 there is movement but I have no idea where the beaks are and no bruises yet
So nothing I can do
Aw I am so sorry for your loss. You did all you could, sometimes they just don't make it. :hugs

I want to thank all of you for the support love and prayers
I did everything I knew how to do and although I got them this far I still failed them in the end
Blizzard and ice have both passed as well
Blizzard was so close to being ready it really breaks me as she talked to me and was breathing
But when I went to check again I saw she was hardly breathing
I tried ti open more shell to give her room to breath and I could see she didn’t have much yolk left. I tried ti save her but I was a few mins to late
Ice did break the membrane but never got the shell so I had no idea where to find it’s beak
I think it died previously as it had a huge yolk left
I have learned a lot on this journey
Getting them to hatch was easy. Having the smaller air cell did help but I think even smaller would have been better
All 4 babies fully developed and nobody was tangled around each other
But at hatch time it’s almost impossible to know when to help without knowing exactly where the beaks are
I believe with the small yolk blizzard had she had got through the membrane abc was in the air cell as she had to be absorbing and breathing for it to be down
I took a risk opening them but it was one I had to try
I will never do twins again as it’s to hard at hatch to get it right to save them but I don’t regret trying and learning from this experience
Rip my special little ones
Aw, I wish they had all made it. I am so, so sorry.

I thank everyone for the support
It’s been a really rough day for me
I grew to love these little guys as I do all my ducks
I did promise to tell the ending no matter what that would be
We can only continue to learn if we know start to finish
I would say the egg would need to be no less then 120 grams for both babies to fit and that’s very hard to get
My biggest was 104
They just needed a little more room to be able to turn
Stormy made some beautiful little babies and I have no doubt that her single eggs will be able to hatch with no issues
If twins can get that far her normal eggs should do great
I am not incubating through the winter months but come spring the schools would like to hatch my eggs again so they will get to have some of storms eggs
Thank you all again for the positive support
I truly love this group for all the love , support and help we get here

How are the eggs doing?
Sadly I missed the bruising on the one egg through the night abc by the time I saw it they were gone
Egg 2 I did get one baby air but she was very stuck and needed to be pulled out and I didn’t realize she was close to Bemba done her yolk and she passed. Her twin was already gone as it had a full yolk
There are pics of the babies further up in the thread
All 4 were fully developed with no abnormalities
The hatch is so tricky and although I’m great at assists this is different as it’s precise timing or you loose them and I missed
