Two chicks sold as Sapphire Gem females. Barred Rock? Need some help IDing

Can you look at bottom of feet? If they're really yellow, that would indicate JG....but if they're just sort of paleish, grayish, yellowish.... something else. I looked up 3 week old chicks from various breeds that a local store might carry and none are exact. Dominiques seem to have more barring at that age and australorps are more solid black. I keep coming back to barred rock pullets... they're darker than cockerels. Bottoms of feet might help

They are quite yellow honestly.
I have a couple of Australorpes and these definitely are not them. I’ll check out some other breeds. The general store that sold them to me wasn’t even carrying JGs that day. I’d never even heard of the breed! Ugh!

I currently have 5 SG chicks that are 2 1/2 weeks old ( April 3). I can post some pictures. They all have slight variations but were pretty grey (or blueish) fuzzy butts with dark heads when they were day olds.

They always have the zoomies when I open the crate. I tried not to get any motion but getting all 5 in 1 shot with no motion and not under the red light is challenging. I did my best. Hope it helps! FYI there is a chick that I don’t know what the breed is that is a darker Chocolate brown color in a few of the pics. Waiting to see what she grows up to be.

So pretty! Yep this is helpful. They definitely look true grey. Not charcoal/blackish like mine. I do see that one or two are darker than many pics I have seen online, but mine really look almost black. Sigh. Thank you for these!

My little guys are not as feathered out as yours are yet and seem a bit smaller. In a week I can get a few more pics for more compares. I am curious to see when they are a week older if they darken up as the feathers that are coming in are quite a bit more dark gray than baby fuzzies.

My 80 meat birds that I got the same day are varying degrees of feathered from almost fully feathered to only partial wings having feathers. So idk if some are older than others or how this happens.

I am really thing the hatchery messed up my JG order! They all look too speckled I think I ended up with barred rocks maybe that's why they looked like yours!!

Oh that one really looks barred! Mine don’t have distinct barring it’s just splats of whiteish grey. They aren’t getting any light so far. I’m frustrated I just wanna know what I got!

You may have one of each of something! I ordered 10 JG, I think I ended up with 8 barred rocks and 2 JG, one is possibly a rooster, haha oh well they are both good chickens. I guess it's my luck

Def looks like a barred bird...NOT a JG :/ Isnt that life... you wanted JGs and got a smaller bird...Genesis1981 wanted smaller birds and might have JGs. Argh!

The one on the right looks crested. Maybe you got OEs? Crested Legbar mom under black roo...maybe an Australorp...might make that...I think?
