Two Feet Of Show And The Chickens Are Thriving!

I, too, am in Portland. My 3 BR's are still laying an egg a day each. I keep telling myself that means they are handling the snow well. I hope so, anyway.

UrbanChickenMama,
Yes, they are coming out of their coop. When we built our coop and run, I was thinking about the very wet winters we usually get here and about 1/3 of their run is covered. Last week, I wrapped the entire covered part of the run in tarps. When they first come out of their little door, they are under the roof of the run. They have not gone out into the snow covered part of the run in a few days. The snow is at least up to their beaks, even though I've shoveled it out twice!! But under the covered part, there is only an inch or so of snow.
I have been more worried about them staying out in the snow than staying in the coop. I just keep thinking that they have got to know to go back into the coop if their feet get too cold. I have a heat lamp and lots of pine shavings on the floor in the coop, the rest is up to them, I guess.
