two of my hens are sleeping in the trees

For the last 3 months 3 of my pullets insisted on sleeping in the same tree together. Before that they went in the coop with everyone else. We let them be as we've had no problems with preditors and couldn't really get them out of the tree, I thought we would hurt them. Just this week at 2:30am we heard one of the girls making noises outside. I thought here it comes, something is after them. They had all gotten down from the tree but we didn't see anything else around outside. Not a mark on the girls. Next night they all 3 when in the coop with the rest at dusk and have every since!

I feel like we've just been blessed with something frightened them and now they don't want to sleep in the tree any more.

I had three birds that slept in the tree for over a year. I presonally don't see what the big deal is. They're not going to freeze unless you're somewhere with really extreme temps.

I have a Mille Fleur D'uccle pullet that started sleeping in the tree so I just did like everyone has suggested and chased her in to the pen when it started getting dark or lured her in and closed the door. That seemed to do the trick she has been going to the coop on her own ever since.

last night i chased them in the coop and one ran in the woods then stopped to i ran at it then she looked and me then looked at the tree then me then just as i was a metre away she flew in the tree!

it was like it was on a movie, and luckly tonight they both went in the shed! i think its because i locked them in last night so they realised its warmer in there

I'm glad. I hope they continue to go in. I have a few tree sleepers as well that have to deal with as well. Your chickens must have given my chickens the idea.
