Tylan powder help and dosage

Hello everyone,

I have a sneeze going around the coop and I can’t get Tylan injectables here.
I do have Tylan powder.
Can someone help with the dosage for
-Average size bird
-silkie
-8 week old chicks

Orally, 0.5 g/litre of water according to this site. Assuming they drink per body weight, I don't think you have to worry about specific dosages. According to @casportpony, injecting it can cause site necrosis. According to someone else, Tylan passes through the body too quickly to be effective, so it should be in the water all day.

Injection seems to be 15.9 mg/lb.

I’m treating the whole flock. I have heard one chicken sneeze about 100 times a day for months. Now others are sneezing. No discharge or eye issues. But I think this has been hanging around awhile and bringing on other illnesses.
I’m just nervous treating, so I always asked advice for size of birds.

One teaspoon of the Elanco powder has 2.5 to 5 grams of tylosin. How much you use depends on how much they drink per day and requires a little math.

You want to use enough that each chicken will get 50 mg per pound of body weigh per day.

I'll double check, but I think most references say to use one teaspoon per gallon per day.

I think the 8 week old chicks wouldn’t drink more then a litre a day. The silkies About half a litre and the larger birds drink about 2 litres a day.
Man math is not my friend. I just didn’t want to hurt the chicks. I agree it seems most I see is 1 teaspoon per 1 gallon.

Guess I will just go with that.
