I thought people go months not cleaning. I have 11 adults 3 4 month oldsWell it looks nice. I'm just wondering then if you should start changing it weekly instead of monthly.
Will do. They say DE is bad and I do use that on the bottom of the bedding. But I feel it really keeps moisture down and we never get mites. It doesn’t smell in there at all. Smells very clean even though it’s been about 3 weeks since it’s been fully cleaned. So not contagious, but as others mentioned it comes from the environment and could still be in the environment and you others birds have likely been exposed. That doesn’t mean they will all get sick necessarily. It’s possible you even got a bad batch of bedding at some point in time. To play it safe I’d do a thorough coop and run clean as well as dispose of any bedding you may have left from the same batch. Good luck. Fingers crossed your other girls are just fine.
With deep litter method but not with just bedding.I thought people go months not cleaning. I have 11 adults 3 4 month olds
Do you have ventilation that is permanent...meaning you don't have to crack a window for it?Will do. They say DE is bad and I do use that on the bottom of the bedding. Do you think I should crack a window for better ventilation?
I know , kind of strange. And Paris was my one year old that died of the respiratory issue. And my other 6 are 3 years old. Not sure if she was already born with a poor respiratory problem. But I agree something is off. I’m always making sure it is clean and always plenty of ventilation during the day.Interesting that your other bird did not have this...
I open the windows every day but at night I close everything. So I guess that would be NO I do not have permanent ventilation. Here are some pics.Do you have ventilation that is permanent...meaning you don't have to crack a window for it?
Can you take a few pictures of the coop?
