Ugh! How to get stains out?

I worked as a stable hand on an Arabian farm one summer. We used blue shampoo on the grey horses to keep them sparkly. If there was a mud or manure stain we had to scrub extra in that spot but the blue shampoo always got it out. I think we even used people shampoo. I don't think it was special horse shampoo. You could just look for grey hair shampoo next time you are shopping.

Cowboy Magic has some great shampoos geared especially for horse and stuff geared towards dogs as well. Nothing for whitening though. I do know that there are some products that Sally Beauty Supply makes for women with gray/silver hair to brighten it that works GREAT on white dogs. It has a bluing agent in it and can be diluted a LOT.

There are lots of the shampoos for whitening dogs hair on Jeffers.com page

Good ideas all! And I might just try a few. It really does bug me to see her so dirty. She's never been this dirty in her entire life! If it warms up a bit and I can get my dryer working, I'm gonna give it a try.

Thanks!

When I used to show my Arabs, we used a shampoo for little old ladies. It was designed for "silver" hair and had a bluing agent in it. Not anything special for a horse, but it did the job.
