If it's a fixed thing like a carpet, I'm afraid if it's real bad, you have to tear it up and get new. Concrete? Maybe bleach? I'm just dealing with a couple of cushions. I hope you don't have NEW carpet! Good luck.

Yes, cats are predictable in a way aren't they? We caught it today, so we're on it! The wicker chair is right by me, and has that "smell" but no cushions, and I just squeezed some lemon juice on it, so far.....no interest with the other cats......AND it smells better already!

I hear ya!!! Mine always seem to do that! Mine are fixed too, except for the ones I took in to foster, which now are going to be ours.

Unfortunately. Funny thing is, when we used to live in quite close quarters, they NEVER did this, now when they have lots of room, and the outside along with it, they spray or pee on things. Go figure.

urine has ammonia in it and cleaning urine with ammonia will just make them want to go more.

That's what I'm using so far, white vinegar. I never tried the ammonia yet.....lemon juice first, than ammonia. Otherwise..........new chair eventually. The cushion are out in the snow dowsed with vinegar and the wicker chair is sitting here right by me with a stink going on. The lemon juice made it smell better already! So far, anyway.
