Ask them why they are not wanting you to get more. Maybe they have a good reason, but knowing what their reservations are will help you state your case!
Good Luck!

Bri,

Ok this may be coming from a guy who doesn't have any children (but seemingly enough is raising his 5 yr old sister), but when she does something sneaky or lies about it, she gets in BIG trouble from me and our mom.

Right now I'm raising baby chix and hatching a mix of fuzzie-butts myself. 5 of my eggs are Ameracaunas, 8 are Japanese Bantams, 5 are Leghorns, and I have 10 that the guy who sold them to me said they might be mutts.

If your feed store runs out and your parents say yes, then if you're interested I can send you a few of my babies when they hatch at the end of the month. I already have 25 babies and while I have a big yard, I live in the city and 25 may be too many as it is.

So what do you say? I'll just ask for shipping to cover postage costs. I have a good box that will work and I'll make sure they get adequate food and water before I ship them.

PM me and let me know what u think.

Ryan

and i asked them why i couldnt and of corse they said that it is because or vacation but i already told them my plan for that and who already said they will be taking care of them if i get them but of corse they said no. i guess i just dont understand sometimes.!

Bri,

No worries. The offer stands if you still want them or the 'rents change their minds. Best of luck and hope that the vacation is fun despite the fact that your "fuzzie butts" are all old hens.

Take care,

Ryan

Vacation is a valid reason you need to really be careful who takes care of your birds espeacially new chicks you should not get new animals right before you go away. I would not trust any of my friend that are my age to care for my chickens they are not respoinsible or mature enough. This is not coming from a parent I am 16 and pay for feed, coop, chicks , and genral care. My parents don't hate my chickens but don't do anything to care for them unless I nicely ask a favor ( locking them in when I am out for the night) I am getting new chicks but only because I have 5 months of school ahead of me and my parents are alright with this. I went over the way I would be caring for them making sure it was not to time consuming (I go to an acedemically rigurous private school and its my Junior year so it matter for college) I had to spend 6 months convincing them to get chickens now they actually enjoy seeing the goofy girls forage and play. I also had to talk to each of my neighbors invidiualy about the hens. My mom also enjoys the fresh eggs allot. This is a big respoinsibility and you have to convince them that you can manage it. Chicks need much more care the larger hens.
Good Luck!

Oh and PS don't lie to moms they are smarter then you think

and this may result in higher penalties for example no chickens at all.

Good point McHammack! I have a baby sister living with me temporarily and she's found out really quickly that lying to big brother Ryan results in pain and suffering...in the corner ha ha.

Don't worry this little bit comes from 16 years of being a sneaky child. I mean I still lie allot but not about obvious things and my mom usually find out any way and it is just worse then if I told her or my dad.
