Wow, shame on her! I raise rabbits and it is really easy to tell if a boy is fixed their .. ahem .. "boys" dangle quite a bit if they aren't. And if a "rescuer" isn't 100% sure, keep them separated. Or at least watch them! My goodness, when faced with lots of ladies unfixed bucks mount and squeal, fight other bucks, spray urine! It is so easy to keep them separated, I can't really see the expense and stress (rabbits don't do anesthetic well) of spaying, neutering maybe.
Sorry, good on you for rescuing the dog.
To the OP, do you have a fishing net? The kind you scoop the fish into the boat with, with the long handle? Excellent for catching bunnies. Good luck!
No, my body wishes i did have a big fish net though.
I am only 28 but my body feels like a crickety 50 yr old.
I had my younger cousin with me though. He slipped on the steep river bank goin after one and almost fell into the river. I couldn't help but laugh. We pretty much crept and pounced and crawled through brush after them. So far no rashes so none of it was poison ivy.
Spaying and neutering is wicked pricey in this area, i can't afford it. Its pretty easy just to keep track of everyone and keep them all separate. Plus there was this customer who brought her rabbit in to get it spayed to the only vet who treats small animals in this area, and it died on the table.
The babies look to be 5-6 weeks so i am gonna separate the babies by sex today.
