I still have some juvies that have no shown tendancies toward either sex and three are silkies. So I know that it will be about a year before I know on those!!!! Slow learners.

I hatched some really nice Silkies from a dear friend and thought I'd hatched all girls, but now that they're 7 months old, I can see streamers on 2 of them, so I have a roo and a spare. Silkies are tough to sex. Mine aren't laying, yet.

Silkies are VERY tough to sex, and I fired Ken from trying after he brought me THREE silkie roosters. Thank you honey, but those are roosters and we already have one. The ones in the juvie pen were hatched the Saturday before Easter so I have a LOOOONG time to wait.

MIne are going on 7 months old and Ill be darned if I still dont know for 100% but I believe them to be both roos-streamers and all but no crowing

Good grief Kathy-you got me on those!!!! at 14 weeks they do look like girls-no real redness in combs and I don't "really" see saddle feathers-My black lav splits that were hatched with my lavs I could tell weeks ago! I think because the lav feathers are more brittle than the rest ( IMO) its hard to get a good feel on feather shape:( Im going with redness in the combs and leg size ith mine? some that are smaller Im thinking girls or should I say the 1 that is smaller!

A package deal, oh that's great! Yes, wonderful deal!

Oh wait.....

I made a mistake! I don't really need a boy. No, no, no...... I just want blue eggs from pretty birds. I am not gonna breed any.

Never mind. No, no, no..... I don't need any more boys here!

Call me optimistic, but I'd think real Ameraucana roos would be worth a bit to people if nothing else to create their own EE's. Of course I say this as the proud (??) owner of an extra lavender bantam cockerel to my pair. They are both pretty boys but I'll most likely sell one when I decide which cockerel to keep. Surely somebody would give you at least $10.00 for yours?
