So I had to swap a roo, handed me this chicken and said it's a 5 month Americana mix hen. I wasn't sure based on the tail but he said just take it and if it crows we will swap again- so i did cause I'm timid. Not a girl, is it? The only thing that might give me some hope is that it is so much lighter than the rooster I traded, it doesn't have that bulk to it. It's the same size and feels same weight as my orphington girls 15 weeks.

Ughhhh, thanks. I'm having the worst luck, that makes 3. Well he got a little fluffed up and was near one of my girls and she crouched down with her tail up...was that maybe the mating squat? Or just startled her? I'm so ready for them to lay.
