Bells' Palsy is not always ideopathic...go to the doctor.
I had Bell's Palsy, mine was caused by shingles. I had shingles in my throat, a little (a pock or two) on my face, and in my ear canal. It hurt like crazy. I didn't have a regular doctor at the time, and just kept seeing different people at the urgent care place. I ended up with vertigo, Bell's Palsy, ringing in my ears, hearing loss, the inability to swallow, the inability to smell, double vision and some other symptoms. The treatment took longer and was worse because I didn't have a regular doctor. If I could have kept the antivirals down, I would have come out much better in the long run. I had something called Ramsey-Hunt Syndrome. Many people end up with permanent disabilities from it. I have permanent hearing loss in one ear, and still occassionally have vertigo episodes. The neurologist said that I was close to menigitus and that 7 of the 12 cranial nerves were affected.
Don't mess around, go to the doctor, get the prednisone, and get better!!!!!!!!!
