Ugly coop contest (hehe)

Quote:
They must have just crowded in that one spot when the pic was taken, just looking at the pic you'd think there was only 1 ft per chicken.

This is my little 4' X 3' breeder coop. It has windows in the back and 1 side wall.

I have $0 in it, all salvaged.

Here is the winner!
It was made from an old shed that was out of square, but totally solid.

The paint was given to me and they dared me to paint my coop with it. (I won that dare!)

This coop looks pretty ragged, but has served us well for over 2 years now, and withstood a tornado that passed very close to our house. It doesn't leak, has great ventilation too.

One of these days I'll hit the lottery and build a much nicer coop, but for now this works for me.

Deryl, I think they are all inside because they are fleeing the sun's heat outside. So all 400 of them are in the 500 sq ft of the 2 sheds so 1.25 ft/ bird when they are all have to be inside.
:| That's not good at all. How could you show that?

It's not the appearance that concerns me but the overcrowded living conditions of the coops when they can't go outside.

Oh I cant say whats REALLY going through my mind...on those poor 400 chickens!!!! They look TERRIBLE!
As for Rooster Reds coop......I want some of that paint!! LOVE IT!!
Oh, and I love the horse trailor coop...very good recycling idea!

Deryl one shed is 200 ft the other is 300 ft
That is still only 500 ft for these 400 birds.
You are kidding right?

All these coops so far are awesome!!! mines nothing special and costed well under $100 mostly using materials we had laying around already. no insulation and it houses 8 chickens at the moment the rest of the chickens took over my double garage LOL

One end has a small door that leads to thier 10 ft by 15 ft dog kennel run and the other end has a bigger door that i use for collecting eggs and cleaning. I dont have any pics of the inside as of yet but theres a desk converted into 5 nesting boxes with a top roost and another roost on the opposite wall. Mine spend most of their days running all over the yard and are locked in the coop at night. I believe it is 4ft wide by 6ft long not sure on the height but its fit for a midget (not easy to get in and out of but not bad for a first attempt)
