Uh oh- they are hatching early!!

I just went to take the eggs out of the turner and put them in lockdown and one is pipped!!! They aren't due until Weds. I hope it doesn't shrink wrap now...

They should be alright. What are you hatching and how high was your incubator?

They are black split lavendar orpington eggs, in a hovabator 1588 with auto-turner. Have been at 99.5 the whole time (I think- I have them in the back bedroom so I can't bother them too much...). There is a sl bigger hole in the shell now and it is cheeping like crazy.

Congratulations! An early delivery doesnt mean anything bad usually. Just treat it like you would any other baby chick.
