uhhhh......?

I love our little Brahma - great temperament and every one who visits gushes over his feathered feet.

Note we do have a bantam brahma and he is just slightly smaller to about the same size as most of our standard girls. Again love love love brahmas. He has definately sold us on getting a whole flock next time we expand. They are supposed to be excellent mama birds too.

Easter eggers are fun too though our roo is a bit crazy and mean. The pullet is very loving and likes to perch on our shoulders especially when we're doing chores. However, as this is a mixed breed whose only real common standard characteristic is the blue/green tint genes the personality could be just about anything from what I have read and seen. You might want to try Ameracaunas, Auracaunas, or Welsummers (I think the Welsummers lay nearly chocolate colored - eggs, but someone correct me if I am wrong).

Wynadottes are also supposed to go broody on occassion too. I want to get a silver-penciled one eventually, but right now we have one of the silver-laced Wyns, and she is very pretty.

Check out a site like American Livestock Breeds Conservancy they're all about conserving breeds which are dying out and have some excellent introductory info.

Oh ok. Well that stinks. I love those curly ones. I may have to get some anyway and let them be pets. Thanks for all the help though. I will definatly be looking into having 2 roos now. Should I keep both NN or is it ok to mix and have a different breed of roo? I'm not looking into keeping the breeds pure as long as they serve there purpose as mixes. Where I have my chickens now I have 4 individual runs with coops but after we get moved into the new house they are going to have to be mixed cause we don't have the ability to separate them. They will be in an existing fence that served as a Great Dane kennel.

My sons Godparents raise RIR and they aren't really RED at all. More of a chocolate color. They also have RIW but to me they just look like your average white chicken. They usually win ribbons at the local fairs and stuff. I thought about getting a few hens of each but they seem larger than my NN.

I have been wanting a blue laced red wyandotte since I first came across some that were for sale at one of the online order hatcheries. Now I can't figure out which one it was and even if I did I don't really have the place to keep day old chicks. Nor do I need 25 chicks which is usually the minimum order. If I could ever come across some hens for sale I would GLADLY buy them. Possibly a roo too.

AWESOME!! Can you put me on a waiting list? Like I said I don't have any idea what to do with day old chicks but maybe by then I can have more know how.
