I just found out about this, it’s weird they want to know where on the property the birds are kept.
I wonder if they would also take any fertile eggs if they arrived with scissors? Keeping enough eggs to fill the incubator in rotation might not be a bad strategy to preserve the line.

I don't think there is any evidence of vertical transmission, so eggs would be unaffected. Are you in an area prone to repeated outbreaks and lock-downs?

Australia has laws - that vary from state to state for caged birds - not aware of any for chickens.
But as each state is different - it can be very confusing for people moving interstate or selling interstate.

I have no idea, I don’t follow the news.
I’m surrounded by cows on the Welsh border so hopefully not, that’s good news about no vertical transmission, thanks .
I’ll just keep some eggs aside on rotation, hope we get lucky here and try to maintain the suspension of disbelief that our government is here to save us.
