Today is a sad day. From the Araucanas I hatched two are cockerals. Bob and neville. Bob is the sweetest little roo EVER! He always comes up to me, he wants picking up and cuddling everytime I go in. I knew the day would come that he would have to go. Fortunately I have found a home for him with the lady who gave me the eggs to begin with! She has just lost one of her cockerals and needed a replacement for her breeding. She only live a couple of miles away and I get visiting rights! He will be very well looked after and I can have some more eggs from him next year! I'll miss Bob. He is the sweetest ever!

Neville still needs a home. He is a pure white Araucana. He's not as loving as bob but he's still a beautiful looking roo.

:fl You can find Nev somewhere soon. Nice of the lady to take Bob back. It’s hard though letting them go...
but just think room for more now...
I'm a bit maxed out now! I'm just being silly! He is a lovely roo though and should make some lovely chicks one day. I couldn't pass the opportunity to rehomed him. Im looking for a home for neville but I'll just play it by ear for now! I can have a roo but it wouldn't take much to upset the neighbours here. I think neville would make a lovely addition to your flock. Imagine those lovely blue or green eggs!

Same problem here with neighbors! That’s why I rehomed my last 2 boys. Only 10 houses down our street and in the last 2 years 5 have sold up and we got new ones. The ones especially at the back of us already are not keen on us because we put an objection in against their planning application :hmm They bought the bungalow then put an application in to stick the size of the bungalow again on the front of the original?? Now out of our patio doors and garden all we can see is their great extension rather than the trees and the old Victorian station house that sits back.

Why didn’t they just buy a bigger house? Don’t know why they are weird with us because they got their application granted! But how a modern big glass fronted Extension and chalet style wood cladding fits in with a Victorian station house next to it I will never know :idunno

It sounds like a grand designs build! My dad had the same problem at his old house. There was no houses at the back of him and developers built right upto his fence. Now every window on the rear of the new build overlooks his garden and straight in his house.

Rain here too, I’m guessing that’s what you mean? It’s still very muggy though! The clouds built yesterday and I could here the thunder in the distance. As you can see the grass at the farm is desperate for the moisture!

Finally it chucked it down!

Yes. We had thunderstorms all night. It started raining when I finished work. Absolutely torrential! My garden has gone from yellow to a nice shade of orange now! The chickens are loving it. They're all running around in it looking for bugs and worms!
