I visited my parents for the first time in ages and its made me want to keep chickens again, do you lot think the incoming cold weather means I should hold off getting a small handful of birds and focus on other things for the time being?

Where in the country are you? The north is meant to be getting very cold soon

I'm by no means a chicken expert but its going to get pretty nippy up there apparently.

I have no idea how chickens deal with cold though. Mine apparently hate a chilly breeze and a slight shower so God knows how they are going to cope with next week (snow and minus temps forecast)

All well here. Had a slight shower yesterday. Our dafodils are up and out, our fuscia has buds on and lots more things coming up in the garden!

Weather is meant to get colder and colder over the next week and our met office guys are saying that in the next few weeks the weather will be diabolical with a lot of snow and ice coming our way! Joy of joys.

Great to hear all is well with you, have your birds settled in ok now? I had seen on the news about the dafs coming through down your way. Just mad this weather is!! I have to say the cold that is meant to be on the way does not fill me with joy at all :/ But if it's dry I will be happy!!

Are you thinking of chicks or adult birds?

Seem to be settling in ok. No eggs yet apart from the one on the first day.

Lots of rain today and frost tonight. Our pilots aren't happy as their helicopters aren't waterproof hahah!

Hi all a quick update for you all had my last scan today everything well she just huge!!!!!!
So far @ 36 weeks she weighs 8lb 5oz on a plus even though the man consultant said he is happy for me to go overdue!!!!!!!!!! The midwife has put me in for a membrane sweep on 1/2/16. Bloody typical male.

Oh I do hope it snows here in south Yorkshire I love the snow

Typical male saying he's not fussed if you go overdue!! He's not having to walk round with a giant baby!!

I've just taken the dogs for a walk and boy that wind is chilly. Bbrrrr........
