UK Member Please Say HI

Oh that's fabulous news :clap So Pleased they are doing well even though they are on hide seek mode!! Mine do that too as I use a heat plate in the house brooder. If you leave your hand down long enough they soon have to come and investigate you!! Chicks are so nosey and curiosity always gets the better of them!

Not a bad week so far, got out on the horse so that's a real bonus :D Eggs are cooking in the incubator on day 12 so I'm a happy :bun

Good luck at the auction :fl Hope you get a good price. I'm not into ducks as they are too messy for my liking. I'm a bit of a neat freak and all the duck poop would drive me potty!

Yeh they did that for the first few days and now they're not interested...keep hiding and going really quiet lol.
That's good! I'm a bit wary of horses...always think they're going to try and nibble me! But ducks are definitely more my thing...yeh they stink to high heaven but they're little faces and feet just make me melt

I noticed a few of them seem to have lost their umbilical cords which is good news! And they look all healthy and clean underneath which is even better ^_^
I will try and drop or two of the apple cider vinegar in their water then seeing as they seem to be doing alright without the vitamins now. It's been a rough few days, but I am so proud of them...they've all just kept fighting and it's beautiful

How are they doing now?

Hey, I'm from North Wales and I'm looking into keeping quail in the near future! :D
But for now it's just learning more about them before I start :)

Mine hide because they get sick of me mauling them, I just can't help myself and have to stick y hands in the brooder everytime I pass
Not all horses nibble you, honestly! Fascinating creatures they are, can't imagine life without them in it :D
I'm not against ducks, they sure are cute and ducklings even more so, it's the poop!

Get it posted and let's have a look, from the same breeder?

Grumpy is not the word

Were they really :(

Lol

I'm arguing over the fact as they are saying there's is pet bred hence why they look nothing like runner ducks in saying they look more like khaki Campbell cross call ducks just coz they are bred as pets does not mean it changes the whole structure of the bird

Ha ha! Yeh they are rather dirty animals I can assure you of that! I thought chickens smelt bad...oh no...they smell positively floral in comparison!
I would love to just sit and play with the chickies all day, but I don't think they'd thank me for it for starters, and I would probably lose my job!

Sounds an interesting discussion, I know nothing about ducks apart from they poop a lot :D

Think I've become immune to the smell of both chickens and horses. Apparently I stink when I get back from doing the horse, at least according to the other half!!
I don't smell it :idunno
I work from home so it's an ocupational hazard walking past them, oops! I'm sure I would get more done work done if I worked at an office or something!
