Hi Barabara
Oh goodness me what a time you have been having with Frances and the little Pekin dying like that
How is Frances now? All good I hope
What an ordeal having to go find her like that and she was so lucky to not have not been seriously injured. Phew!
Any action for your eggs yet? Hatch all done here by the end of Friday, i moved the last three into the brooder before heading off to bed that night. Of the 16 that made it to lockdown 14 hatched. 10 Pekin, mainly lemon and a couple of lavender and 4 Wyandottes. I'm afraid the last 2 Wyandottes died in the shell after they had pipped. One had pipped through a blood vessel and bled out and the other I have no clue about
I opened the shell and it was fully formed, all yolk and blood vessels absorbed but just didn't start zipping. Overall a good hatch batting the 2 deaths and everyone seems to be doing well. Got them in the house of a few days before I move them out to the shed.
Have you been out riding? Still getting out with Ian? How's Zak doing now? Have they ironed their difference's out? It sure sounds like a battle of the Will's with those two! Catch 22 isn't it when you get frustrated and the horse won't do what you ask.
Been out on Harry today and yesterday
Had a right fool of a van this morning
As I was coming to a junction I stuck my arm out to the right to indicate, the van was well behind me and we had more than enough time to make the junction before it got to needing to overtake us. This junction is on a bit of corner so you need to move out to check around it, I moved out to look and the van came screaming past us over taking on the corner!! I'm sure he's sped up when he saw us and for what reason I don't know! He was certainly over the 30 limit. Other than that all good and Harry was well behaved and we had some pretty big tractors this morning.
Hope all is going well for you there and that you are enjoying this nice weather
