@rebrascora
Thank you Barbara!
Yes, I’m a native Italian speaker but I’m studying English and German at University. I’ve already been three times in Germany but I’ve never visited UK. I know, that sounds weird.
However my sister has been in Cardiff and London and she had a good time there, specially in Wales. You know…. medieval castles, green pastures, ancient and small cementaries in rural villages in the british countryside…. All of these things are part of the typical British landscape in the popular immagination and she has seen them
Well, Pekins/Cochins also are very popular here. We call them “Cocincina” but I did not know that there is a bantam version of this breed. Orpington is one of my favorite breeds. I like their body shape. I find that they are relaxing to watch.
Yes, I’ve heard that Northern England was historically more industrialised than the South of the country. However I agree, good thing that now it’s all gone. Less pollution and stuff like that. Do you have a farm or it’s just a hobby? How many horses do you have?
I bought the white Australorp eggs that you can see in my photos but only one of them was born. The black ‘Lorp eggs were from my flock. So my intention now is to cross black and white in order to obtain the splash colour because someone told me that if I make this crossbreed twice, then I’ll get the splash one. I’m not sure but I want to try. Twice because white colour is dominant and the chickens resulting from the first attempt should be white with not many black spots. Are you informed on genetics or stuff like that?
Australorp breed can be white, black, blue and splash but the combinations that you can find on Internet are only these ones:
black x black = 100% black
blue x blue = 50% blue - 25% black - 25% splash
splash x splash = 100% splash
black x blue = 50% black - 50% blue
black x spalsh = 100% blue
blue x splash = 50% blue - 50% splash
Your chickens are very lucky. Unfortunately I do not have so much space for my chickens. On the other hand, 47 eggs.... wow! It would have been a waste, if you had not find them
@Rudies Roost
Well, you’re welcome here in Italy
You know, I’ve never been in Venice
What breeds of chickens do you have?
Thank you Barbara!
